What to Expect

"HIS HEART...HIS HANDS"

At Boulder Valley, we are committed to making it easier for you to come to church to experience great worship, encouraging messages, friendly people and an enjoyable atmosphere. Part of this commitment involves answering some of your questions even before you arrive. The first time at a church can be intimidating and we hope to alleviate that.

What can you expect?

Relaxed:
We’re pretty casual around here in dress and decorum. You can rest assured that you will never be put on the spot, never singled out, and never embarrassed. Grab a cup of coffee or hot tea and join us for a great time of worship.
Choose your own level of participation: Worship orders are provided in the bulletin to help you follow along in the service. We project all parts of the service on a screen in the front so you will easily be able to participate at level that is comfortable for everyone

Music:
You will notice that most of our worship is a cappella style (which means voices only), but every now and then, we worship with a guitar or keyboard accompanying us. It is really beautiful listening to people singing  and worshipping here.

Lord's Supper:
Each Sunday we take communion (or Lord's Supper)  to remember the sacrifice of Jesus. Usually a man or woman from the congregation directs our thoughts towards Jesus by giving a 5 minute talk. After they pray, volunteers will pass out the communion. They will first pass around a plate of unleavend bread  (cracker to be pinched off) which represents Jesus body, and then they will pass a tray filled with little cups of grape juice (this respresents Jesus blood shed on the cross for our sins). Any believer of Jesus is welcome to participate in communion.

Children’s Ministry:
We treasure opportunities to provide safe and positive experiences for our children to learn about God. Therefore, junior worship and nursery (newborn through fifth grade) are available for our little ones. Our children participate in worship with us during the singing time and communion. We usually invite our children up on stage just after communion and have a prayer time w.ith them before sending them to junior worship while we listen to the message that morning

Contribution:
When you visit, you are our guest. As such, don’t feel obligated to participate in the offering. Let our love and acceptance be our gift to you. We are less concerned that you give something than we are that you experience someone . . . Jesus

Message:
At Boulder Valley, we have several qualified speakers who present the message each Sunday morning. We have a elders, a full-time minister, and members who rotate in delivering the message each Sunday. Sermons are usually no longer than 30 minutes. Children are at Junior Worship during this time if they wish.

Times:
We try our best to start worship service at 10:00 and end by 11:30.  At the end of services, you can go pick up your children if they went to junior worship.  If you can make it by 9:00 we have  Bible classes for children and adults.

Deaf:
We have interpreters both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening for our deaf members and visitors.
